There’s a reason we build. Not just to raise structures, but to create something lasting—something engineered to endure. In our world, strength isn’t just a product specification. It’s a mindset. A way of working. A commitment to building smarter, faster, and stronger with every panel, frame, and foundation we put in place.
At Star Building Systems, that same spirit lives in the people behind the projects. The ones who rise before the sun, walk the jobsite in every season, and lead their teams with precision and pride. The ones who believe that a building system is only as strong as the builder behind it.
That’s what the Star Hall of Fame was created to honor.
This is our most prestigious recognition—reserved for those who go beyond the specs and the steel to leave a legacy in the field. These inductees have not only delivered consistent excellence—they’ve advanced the industry, elevated their communities, and mentored the next generation of metal building professionals.
They embody what it means to build with Star: a relentless commitment to quality, innovation, and doing things the right way. Not just once, but again and again—across decades, across disciplines, and across job after job.
Each inductee is nominated and selected by a cross-functional team of Star employees who’ve seen the impact firsthand. From field operations and engineering to customer service and support, these are the names that come up when someone asks: Who truly sets the standard?
This year, we’re proud to welcome two builders who have done just that. Their stories are etched in steel—and they remind us all why we build.
Hayden Worsham Jr. & Worsham Brothers, Inc.
Corinth, Mississippi
In the world of metal building construction, few names carry the generational weight and technical expertise of Worsham Brothers, Inc. Founded in 1945 by three civil engineer brothers, the company began by shaping the physical infrastructure of North Mississippi—laying roads, constructing bridges, and building critical systems that supported regional growth.
But in 1967, the company made a pivotal shift. Under the leadership of Hank Worsham, Worsham Brothers partnered with Star Building Systems and began pioneering a new path: pre-engineered metal buildings. What followed was a decades-long legacy of delivering precision-built structures that have stood the test of time.
Today, that tradition continues with J. Hayden Worsham Jr., Executive Vice President and Director of Field Operations. A graduate in Construction Management with over 40 years of experience, Hayden has become a driving force behind some of the region’s most complex commercial and industrial builds. From self-performing concrete work to overseeing complete PEMB packages, Hayden is known for his meticulous eye, jobsite leadership, and deep technical knowledge.
Under his direction, Worsham Brothers has completed over 750,000 square feet of manufacturing space for Corinthian Furniture alone, along with standout projects for Army Aviation, Northrop Grumman, the University of Mississippi, and Corinth Elementary School—where Hayden’s team placed a 150,000-square-foot slab on grade with precision and speed.
Worsham Brothers is now in its fourth generation of leadership, and the Star partnership remains foundational to its success. The company’s ability to integrate steel framing systems, concrete work, and turnkey delivery continues to set the benchmark for builders across the South.
Beyond the jobsite, Hayden is a man of faith and family. He and his wife, Whitney, are longtime members of the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth and cherish time with their grandchildren. His legacy, much like the buildings he oversees, is built to last.
Randy Wanta & Wanta & Son
Hatley, Wisconsin
Legacy isn’t always something you plan. Sometimes, it’s something you step into—with grit, determination, and a commitment to honor what came before you.
For Randy Wanta, that moment came at just 19 years old when he chose to carry on his late father’s construction business after his sudden passing. What began as a small rural operation evolved into Wanta & Son, one of the most respected and consistent performers in the Star network.
Since joining Star Building Systems in 1987, Randy has built more than just metal structures—he’s built trust. His work spans agricultural, commercial, and community-based projects throughout the Midwest, always delivered with the hallmarks of Star quality: structural integrity, attention to detail, and efficiency in execution.
Randy’s track record is unmatched. He has earned Outstanding Builder Awards and Master Builder Awards every single year since joining the Star family. He’s served four terms on the President’s Advisory Council, helping to shape builder programs, optimize product lines, and ensure Star remains at the forefront of the metal building industry.
At the heart of Randy’s story is a deep sense of family. His wife, Roxy, and his children, Ryan and Becky, work alongside him—making Wanta & Son a multi-generational business grounded in hard work, faith, and community service. From his role as a Town of Bevent Supervisor to his support of the Hatley Fire District, Boy Scouts of America, and the Rosholt Booster Club, Randy brings the same commitment to his town that he brings to every build.
His colleague and longtime friend Dan Smith described him best:
“Randy is the epitome of dedication—always on the cutting edge, always involved in every Star program, and always willing to share his knowledge. His connections within Star and with fellow builders go beyond business—they’re built on mutual respect and true friendship.”
More Than Recognition—It’s a Foundation of Excellence
The Star Hall of Fame isn’t about the biggest project or the boldest headline. It’s about the builders who’ve laid the foundation for something greater—who’ve turned steel into stories, and blueprints into business legacies.
Hayden Worsham Jr. and Randy Wanta have set that standard. Their leadership, integrity, and commitment to excellence are what this Hall of Fame was built to honor.
We are proud to recognize them as members of the 2025 Star Hall of Fame Class.
