MATERIALS GETTING DAMAGED WHEN OFFLOADING? USING ONE OF THESE TOOLS WILL PREVENT THAT.

When offloading a bundle of panels, builders will often use only one or two pick points from a crane or only the forks on a lift. Due to the length of the panels, their sheer weight will cause them to fold, buckle, or break. You can prevent that from happening by using a spreader beam of two-thirds the panel length with slings spread out at three or more points, or adequate support under the panels when offloading.

Here’s how it works.

When Star loads the panels on the trailers, we use an overhead crane with a spreader beam to keep the panels weight evenly distributed. During unloading, our loading technique can be closely replicated by using a spreader beam with slings or support to balance the weight of the panels and prevent damage.
