How did you get started in the construction industry?

Father owed and operated Kalispell Plumbing and Heating for 60 years along with a Stran Steel dealership. (journeyman’s Plumber and Pipe fitter/ journeyman Ironworker)

People – some of the best in the industry, both in our OKC and Atwater locations to assist and aid in any way.

Again the people and 90 years of experience.

Describe your day-to-day operations of a Star District Manager:

Most days are behind the wind shield, visiting customers, going to job sites and always looking for new and qualified builders to add to the Star family. Others are spent on the laptop and phone assisting with issues and contacting our customers to check in.

What is something unusual that you’ve seen in the field?

A moose sitting in one of our buildings, not yet completed. He didn’t want to move too fast, and we weren’t in the mood to try and hurry him along.

What are the most common questions you receive from Star Builders in your region?

1st – How long for prints and calcs – living in the Great NW winter always comes too fast, just try to stay ahead of her.

2nd – Do you think we can build this type of outside the box building – 95% of the time we get pretty darn close.

What’s the best thing about being a Star District Manager?

Working with the Builder/Dealers, and all the inside people at Star.

What is one piece of advice you would give to Star Builders?

Always keep the line of communication open. Try to make as many of the functions put on by our staff to get the chance to meet the people on the other end of the phone.

Most memorable Star Building Systems moment:

Tucson National Meeting, just getting to talk with everyone face to face.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Grandkids & family, restoring old Chevy square faced trucks and my HD bikes. Plus, my house and yard, and fly fishing when I can.
