BUILDING SUPPLIES RUNNING SHORT? KNOWING THIS ONE THING COULD FIX THAT.

“Have you seen the abbreviation “NS/FS” on your erection drawings? NS means “near side” and FS means “far side.” If you don’t know what it means, it could cause your erection crews to make unnecessary connections and use too many building supplies.”

Here’s why it is so important to know.

This abbreviation is used to determine the angles used to connect your metal building. NS is used when you should connect the part to the beam nearest you. FS is used to denote the beam on the other side. If you misread this abbreviation, you may be connecting too many parts together and run short of your supply in the end.
