In 2013, we officially launched the first-ever version of the Star Builder mobile app. It was an exciting introduction for us and offered our builders the ability to access their master schedule, job documentation, and relevant contact information in a simple-to-use interface. It was an opportunity for us to provide a digital tool to help save time and streamline project details for our builders.

Just seven months later, an update to the app added even more capabilities – and the response from builders was extremely enthusiastic. A third release followed soon after and expanded the possibilities to include a search feature that allows builders to search by job description rather than just by a job number; a link to job details, including standard drawings, building details and accessories and more; and a complete contact list of Star employees and departments, a company calendar and a link to our blog.

Our most recent update, Phase Four, was completed in 2016. Designed with larger buttons, consistent type sizes, and a logout option, this updated version is available on both Apple and Android devices for phones and tablets and is saving many of our builders and contractors money as well as time.

From anywhere in the world, a builder can connect to their dedicated server via the app and access all project information, verify a building’s status and production schedule, view specific sub-assemblies of building parts, connect to a Star sales representative and access the many features designed to save them time in the field.

The app offers cost-saving benefits as well, enabling a contractor to find the exact dimensions of materials, any part of a building and other specifications immediately – helping to reduce errors and mistakes and streamline the erecting process.

We’ve listened to your feedback throughout the process and the app has evolved to include the features you’ve told us you want and refine those that weren’t functioning up to our standards.
